Former Chelsea defender David Luiz is a player who divides opinion.
The Brazilian is either loved or hated – there is no middle ground. The 33-year-old spent six seasons at Stamford Bridge spread over two separate spells.
As someone who made 248 appearances for Chelsea, Luiz is mostly held in good regard by the Blues faithful. Given how his time at Arsenal has gone, it is fair to say his reputation has been affected.
The veteran defender has looked like a fish out of water in the Gunners backline. He has made 33 appearances this season and has already got sent off twice. His inability to anchor the backline has led to a number of comical moments, much to our amusement.
There is no doubt that Luiz was an excellent player for us. It is not still the case at Arsenal, where he seems off the pace.
With him extending his contract for another year, we are set to be entertained for another year. We take a look at how Chelsea fans reacted to the news.
