Chelsea closing in on Manchester United starlet Angel Gomes
According to the Independent, Chelsea will offer Manchester United starlet Angel Gomes a lucrative contract.
This comes after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed that United have failed to reach an agreement with the 19-year-old.
Touted as one of United’s best young talents, he is set to leave the club on a free when his contract expires in the coming days.
Gomes is represented by superagent Pini Zahavi. The Israeli has a good working relationship with Chelsea and Roman Abramovich, which can work in our favour.
We are not the only team in for him, with significant offers coming in from abroad too. Chelsea have shown this season that the club can be a haven for promising youth who are ready to make the step up.
Whether we can sign Gomes or not remains to be seen. Chelsea fans took to Twitter to react to the news. We take a look at a few reactions below.
Twitter reacts as Chelsea near Angel Gomes deal
£25,000 a week is £1.3 million a year. Over 5 years that’s £6.5 million. This is a risk free transfer really; he could impress and improve a lot and maybe get into the team. If not we will definitely make our money back either way. For chelsea it makes complete sense.

IT’S all great buying a man utd prospect to rub salt, but how does he get a chance in our team. If we sign Havertz, he cannot even sit on the bench! 🤔

Good for squad depth, if he works out great, but if he doesn’t then we’ll loan him a few times then sekk him for a profit.

Well done Chelsea, seems a good lad, and seeing he’s rejected the Rags for you, it’s good news. I think City will be playing Chelsea in the FA cup final.

No brainier for me, should definitely get him. Free transfer and nothing to lose for us.

He is not good enough for Chelsea. Why bother with him when we already have better young midfielders out on loan like Conor Gallagher and Ethan Ampadu?
