Boost for Chelsea as 29-year-old star is not in favour of Stamford Bridge exit

N'Golo Kante of Chelsea

N’Golo Kante will only leave Chelsea if the club wants him to

Chelsea star N’Golo Kante is not in favour of leaving Stamford Bridge in the summer transfer window.

The Frenchman has been an excellent signing for the Blues since joining the club in 2016. He has since made 164 appearances for Chelsea while scoring 11 goals and 7 assists.

Kante has been beset by injuries and has made just 22 appearances this season. He has been linked with a move to Barcelona in a deal that will see Philippe Coutinho move the other way.

Apart from the Catalans, European heavyweights Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are also keen on the 29-year-old. (h/t Express)

According to Goal (h/t Express), he will only leave for the Nou Camp if Chelsea wants him out.

The Blues are keen to bring in Coutinho, who has struggled to make an impact in Spain. The former Liverpool star has plenty of experience in the Premier League and will be ready to make an impact.

Barcelona are aware of Chelsea’s interest and are aiming to make use of it to tempt us to sell Kante. The Catalans do, however, hold an advantage because the player is not keen on a move to Real Madrid or PSG.

The coronavirus pandemic has affected the finances of football clubs. It could have further repercussions in the transfer market, with Lampard admitting that the club’s transfer plans could take a hit.

Kante has been a solid player for the club. A senior player in a young side, the Frenchman brings a lot of experience, having played in some of football’s biggest games.

He was awarded the Legion of Honour, France’s highest decoration, along with the rest of the French national team following their World Cup triumph in 2018.
