Lampard leaves heartfelt message for Chelsea fans amidst coronavirus turmoil
According to a report by The Metro, Frank Lampard has issued a heartfelt message to Chelsea fans while speaking to the club’s official website.
The West London outfit imposed a spell of self-isolation in and around the club, as Callum Hudson-Odoi tested positive for the deadly coronavirus. Parts of Stamford Bridge – along with the Cobham training ground – were locked down while players and staff were instructed to isolate themselves.
The report claims that Cobham has now reopened for those who are not self-isolating. Lampard, who has successfully sparked a youth revolution at Chelsea this term, urged the fans to take care and even emphasized that health comes above everything – even football (h/t The Metro).
When asked about Callum, Lampard told ChelseaFC.com (h/t The Metro):
“I’m happy to say that in Callum’s case, he has made great progress and almost feels his usual self, which is obviously the news we all want to hear”.
He went on to add that he understands that not everyone can recover from this virus and called for the community to act responsibly and help when needed (h/t The Metro).
“Please do take the time to call older relatives and vulnerable people who might be alone, or offer to drop round shopping if they can’t get out. Let’s make sure we all take care of each other,” he concluded.
