According to a report by The Metro, Chelsea legend John Terry has backed the club to make a move for Borussia Dortmund ace Jadon Sancho once the summer transfer window commences.
The report claims that Sancho is ready to return to the Premier League, having embarked on his career with Watford and Manchester City. Manchester United and Liverpool are also interested in his services (h/t The Metro), meaning a bidding war could be on the cards.
With 14 goals and 16 assists to his name in the Bundesliga, Sancho has earmarked himself as one of the most talented youngsters in Europe at the moment.
And Terry believes the same. Speaking to Frank Khalid UK’s YouTube channel (h/t The Metro), the former Chelsea defender said:
“I think Sancho is probably one of the best young players in the world at the moment. So he’d be a great addition to Chelsea’s squad and obviously make us better as well.”
However, he also added that Lampard’s young contingent at Chelsea is already talented enough. While he advocated a move for Sancho, he did suggest that we have a good number of youngsters fighting for a starting spot.
The likes of Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount and even Billy Gilmour have impressed one and all with their performances for Chelsea.
Signing a player like Sancho would be a huge statement of intent but it will be interesting to see how he fits into the squad.
