According to a report by Daily Mail, Chelsea’s upcoming Champions League clash against Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich is likely to be postponed instead of being played behind closed doors.
With the coronavirus epidemic spreading fast across the world and the footballing community, there have been numerous games that were played behind closed doors recently.
Even Manchester United’s Europa League clash against LASK was played in a similar manner but Daily Mail claims that our game against Bayern will be postponed.
Callum Hudson-Odoi has tested positive for coronavirus and this measure is more of a necessity now rather than a norm.
As far as the game against Bayern is concerned, we lost 3-0 during the first-leg at Stamford Bridge. There is a huge deficit that we need to overturn and perhaps, from the perspective of our club, this decision does come as a bummer.
However, the safety of our players and staff should be of paramount importance, especially since this disease can be fatal.
Let’s hope everyone stays safe during this period – that’s the only way we can all continue enjoying the magic of football in the days to come.
