Marina Granovskaia and Lampard at loggerheads about Willian’s future
According to Duncan Castles (h/t Daily Express), Chelsea chief Marina Granovskaia and Frank Lampard have opposing views about Willian’s future at the club.
The Brazilian winger, whose current contract expires at the end of this season, is keen on extending his stay with the London-based outfit (h/t Daily Express).
However, Marina needs to make a decision about whether or not the club should give in to what Lampard and the player want, or look for a replacement. That is as per transfer expert Duncan Castles, suggests Daily Express.
Willian has been an integral figure for us over the years. Much like his Brazilian counterparts, it is indeed a joy to watch him play on his day.
He has scored a decent amount of goals for us over the years and considering his experience and loyalty, Willian deserves an extension for a year at least.
Chelsea have a policy of not offering long-term contracts to players above the age of 30 but surely, an extension would not be such a bad idea.

Ultimately, the ball will be in Marina’s court but retaining Willian would be a smart choice – even more so if we manage to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
