According to a report by Sky Sports, Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante has been ruled out for about three weeks due to an abductor injury.
The player was taken off the field during the Blues’ 2-0 defeat to Manchester United in the previous game week. And now, Frank Lampard has confirmed that the player will be out for the time being at least.
As a result, he will miss the important Champions League clash against Bayern Munich that is coming up. And his presence will be sorely missed.
Over the years, Kante has established himself as a pivotal figure for us. His abilities in the middle of the park are second to none and Lampard will have his work cut out against the Bundesliga giants.
However, in the recent game against Tottenham, the Blues did well despite lacking Kante. Mateo Kovacic, in particular, put up a splendid display and he must fire on all cylinders when we face Bayern.
The report adds that Ruben Loftus-Cheek is back in the reckoning for a first-team start and that does come as good news. Here’s to hoping Kante can make a speedy recovery because we do need him.
