Chelsea seek to replace Kepa Arrizabalaga with Mike Maignan

Kepa Arrizabalaga has failed to live up to expectations following his world-record £71.6 million transfer. Frank Lampard seems to have lost his patience and has instructed Chelsea’s board to offload the 25-year-old at the end of the season (h/t Metro).

Reserve keeper Willy Caballero replaced the Spaniard in the 2-2 draw at Crystal Palace last weekend.

Chelsea showed a lot of faith in Kepa by making him the most expensive goalkeeper ever. The Spaniard has had moments of brilliance but has largely failed to repay the faith shown in him.

His antics such as refusing to come off in the Carabao Cup final last season does not hold him in a good light.

If there isn’t a sudden upturn in his form, his days at Chelsea could be numbered.
