Chelsea want £6.5million from Inter Milan for Oliver Giroud

The French World Cup winner who is out of contract in the summer has already agreed to personal terms with the Italian giants.

Inter, managed by former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte wanted to prise away the £4.5million but the Blues are adamant on their £6.5million valuation of the player.

The 33-year-old has made just 6 appearances for the Blues this season, with 4 of them coming off the bench. (h/t Whoscored)

Speaking about Giroud’s future, Lampard was quite open regarding the striker’s chances of leaving.

“With Oli the situation is if it’s right for everybody and first and foremost that’s the club as he is under contract then we will look at whether he can leave the club.”

Giroud joined from rivals Arsenal in 2018 and scored against his former club in the 2019 UEFA Europa League final as Chelsea won 4-1.

France manager Didier Deschamps also urged the striker to seek more playing time elsewhere. Deschamps spoke of the possibility of dropping the striker if he doesn’t get regular playing time. (h/t ESPN)

With the European Championships to be held this summer, it is important for the striker to obtain regular playing time to convince Deschamps.

Giroud has won 97 caps for his country and has scored 39 goals.
