The offer is for an 18-month loan with an obligation to buy for £55m. The clause becomes effective provided Fernandes plays at least 50 percent of the games during his loan spell.
The 20-year-old has made 54 appearances for Benfica since making his debut in 2018. He has scored 2 goals and 2 assists during that time.
The midfielder is believed to favour a move to the Premier League and his preferred destination is London due to family reasons (h/t Sky Sports).
