Ligue 1 giants PSG have signed Chelsea goalkeeper Marcin Bulka on a three-year deal, according to the Sun. The 19-year-old was a regular for the reserves squad, keeping 5 clean sheets in 19 appearances. He has also played for the Blues U-18 team.
The polish teenager was called up to the Blues senior team on three occasions but remained on the bench for all the games.
Bulka has represented Poland’s national team at various age levels and he is yet to break into the senior team.
Now, he will join the Parisians for free and is expected to be their second-string goalkeeper as Gianluigi Buffon departs them this summer. French shot-stopper Alphonse Areola will be the first-choice for Thomas Tuchel.
The highly-rated Polish keeper would have been easily the Blues second-string keeper for the upcoming season, given that Willy Caballero’s contract is due to expire at the end of next season.
Kepa Arizzabalaga was off to a blistering start in his first ever season at Stamford Bridge. While he is expected to be indispensable in the coming years, we should have held on to Bulka, who would have been of a great second fiddle to the Spaniard.
