La Liga outfit CD Leganes have submitted a €4million bid for the permanent capture of Chelsea defender Kenneth Omeruo.
The Nigerian centre-back enjoyed a decent loan spell with Leganes and the Spanish side wants to extend his stay.
After being signed by the Blues in 2012, the 25-year-old spent subsequent loan spells with various clubs without making any first-team appearance at Stamford Bridge.
A regular international for Nigeria since 2013, Omeruo has earned 44 caps until now. With the Premier League return looking like a far cry at the moment, Leganes see Omerou as a viable addition for the club’s long-term future.
Meanwhile, Tiémoué Bakayoko, who is on loan at AC Milan is expected to make a return to London. The Serie A giants have rejected the chance to extend the French midfielder’s stay at San Siro after failing to impress them.
Maurizio Sarri is also closing in on a summer exit, with Juventus turning out to be his next stop. The Italian manager fared well in his first ever Premier League stint, leading the Blues to Europa League glory.
Frank Lampard has been linked with the Blues to take over as Sarri’s successor.
