Chelsea are in talks with Real Madrid regarding the loan extension of Mateo Kovacic, according to Marca. The Croatian midfielder struggled to get his place with the Los Blancos despite being immensely talented.
It then forced Kovacic to make a move to Stamford Bridge to get more playing time. The 25-year-old’s impact with the Blues has been great and has found his name as a regular under Maurizio Sarri.
He has played 41 matched across all competitions and bagged 2 assists to his name. With the Croatian’s loan spell nearing its end, the Blues are keen on extending his spell.
The report states that the Blues will have no problem in extending Kovacic’s deal despite the transfer ban.
The London side’s appeal against signing players until 2020 in the transfer window was refuted by FIFA (h/t BBC Football).
Eden Hazard has also been linked with a move to Madrid with the Belgian’s contract nearing its final years.
However, Hazard wants the transfer before the end of the season as he always mentioned his favourite destination is the Santiago Bernabeu.
Yet, the Blues midfielder still can relish his European dreams as the blues are set to face Arsenal in the final.
Furthermore, Sarri’s men ensured their Champions League spot despite what it looked as a fluctuating season for the former Napoli manager.
