AC Milan to make Tiemoue Bakayoko loan deal permanent from Chelsea
AC Milan have decided to press ahead with their efforts to sign Tiemoue Bakayoko on a permanent deal from Chelsea, report Calciomercato.
The French midfielder, 24, endured a really difficult start to life at AC Milan, and it initially appeared unlikely that the Serie A club would consider taking up their option of signing the player on a full-time basis for €35m.
However, Tiemoue Bakayoko has impressed massively since the turn of the year and according to Calciomercato, Milan want to wrap up his transfer. They will have to pay €35m to Chelsea, which is a hefty price considering Gennaro Gattuso’s team’s issues with the Financial Fair Play.
Thus, Milan will look to negotiate a deal with Chelsea, rather than pay the full amount for a player who has no future at Stamford Bridge, adds the report.
Bakayoko still has over three years remaining on his contract at Chelsea. The Frenchman, who has made 37 appearances for Milan in all competitions, admitted last month that he is happy at San Siro and is raring to guide the club into the Champions League.
Big blow for Chelsea?
Bakayoko joined Chelsea from Monaco in 2017 but failed to carve out a regular spot in the starting XI in his debut season at Stamford Bridge. He was shipped out on loan to Milan at the start of the 2018/19 campaign, with Maurizio Sarri reluctant to give the Frenchman an opportunity.
We are expected to do very little transfer business this summer especially with the transfer ban imposed on us but it looks certain that Bakayoko will leave Chelsea for Milan on a permanent deal.

If Sarri stays beyond this season, the midfielder’s departure won’t matter much as the Frenchman was never in his plans from the onset.
