Nabil Fekir recently spoke with Telefoot and claimed he could be on his way out of Lyon.
The French attacker was linked with a move to Liverpool in the summer, but his deal fell apart in the final moments, according to the Sun.
Fekir remained at Lyon after the World Cup and has been excellent for the Ligue 1 side.
The 25-year-old has scored 12 goals and has provided seven assists this season, and the Sun claims that Chelsea are interested in signing the attacker should their transfer ban be lifted.
Fekir spoke about the links with Liverpool and told Telefoot (h/t Sun):
“Liverpool? It’s part of a player’s career, but it makes you stronger and you have to move forward.”
The attacker further claimed that he isn’t sure about his future at the club, but felt good at Lyon.
“I really don’t know what I will do (next summer) but as I said I feel good in Lyon, the president trusts me, that’s good. You will see (if I extend my contract).”
Chelsea have missed a bit of bite in the attack and could do with someone of Fekir’s ability. The 25-year-old has had some problems with injuries in recent years, but he has been relatively injury-free since the summer.
The Blues need to finish in the top four and we got a mini-boost after defeating Cardiff City.
Fekir would be great for the team as he can play behind the attack or out on the wing, and it will be interesting to see if we move for him in the summer.
