Chelsea are one of the host of clubs interested in signing Ajax star Hakim Ziyech, reports Suddeutsche Zeitung. (h/t German Football News)
The Moroccan midfielder has enjoyed another stunning season with Ajax, bagging 19 goals and 12 assists in 42 games across all competitions. His exploits both in the Eredivisie and the Champions League haven’t gone unnoticed as Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Everton and Leicester City also remain keen on Ziyech, who is rated at €35 million by his club, add Suddeutsche Zeitung. As far as Chelsea are concerned, we are currently at fifth position in the Premier League table and face an uphill task for a top-4 race. Maurizio Sarri intends to strengthen his squad in the summer but chances are he won’t be able to make signings due to the transfer ban imposed on us.
However, we are fighting against the transfer ban and if we succeed, Sarri needs to prioritise sorting out the attack, which could lose potency if Eden Hazard leaves in the summer.
Hazard is heavily linked with a summer switch to Real Madrid and if we fail to qualify for the Champions League next season, the Belgian will almost certainly push to join the Spanish giants. Furthermore, failure to secure Champions League would also hamper our pursuit for Hakim Ziyech, who recently helped Ajax qualify for the competitions’ semi-finals.
Should Hazard leave Stamford Bridge and our claim against transfer ban is successful, Sarri should make a move for Ziyech. The Moroccan is a technically-gifted and tactically versatile player who’ll inject much-needed guile and creativity to the Blues’ attack.

Rated at €35 million by Ajax, Ziyech will represent a massive coup if we manage to sign him in the summer.
