Hudson-Odoi to start against Tottenham? – Predicted Chelsea line-up for Carabao Cup semi-final first leg

Eden Hazard and the Chelsea players celebrate

Chelsea face a tough Carabao Cup semi-final clash against Tottenham with the first leg on Tuesday. The Blues are coming off a comfortable FA Cup win over Nottingham Forest where several players were rested.

In an earlier meeting this season, Chelsea came off second best to Tottenham, and Maurizio Sarri should be plotting the downfall of the Lilywhites.

The Blues have rotated the side in the Europa League, Carabao Cup and FA Cup this season, but we should see a full strength side as we are just a couple of games away from the final.

Chelsea have some injury concerns regarding Pedro, Willian and Mateo Kovacic, and keeping that in mind, here is our predicted line-up.

Predicted Chelsea XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Maurizio Sarri

Kepa Arrizabalaga (GK)

The Spaniard should be back in the team and needs to have a great game against Spurs if we are to keep a clean sheet.

Cesar Azpilicueta (RB)

Possibly our most consistent player in defence, Azpilicueta will have his hands full against Spurs and needs to be at his best on Tuesday.

Antonio Rudiger (CB)

The German has excelled alongside David Luiz in the heart of our defence and could a real test against Harry Kane at Wembley.

David Luiz (CB)

Luiz might have one or two erratic moments in his game, but the Brazilian has been preferred in the starting XI by Sarri this season.

Marcos Alonso (LB)

The Spaniard did not play in our FA Cup win and should start against our London rivals.

Jorginho (CM)

Jorginho hasn’t been at his best in recent months, but the Italian should start for Chelsea on Tuesday.

N’Golo Kante (CM)

The French dynamo seems to be doing a decent job alongside Jorginho, and he could be the difference maker in midfield against a tough Tottenham side.

Ross Barkley (CM)

Kovacic has been struggling with illness in recent weeks, and we could see Barkley start as our third midfielder.

Callum Hudson-Odoi (RW)

CHO might be linked with a move away in the summer, but the youngster should get a chance to show his ability against Premier League opposition.

Alvaro Morata (ST)

The Italian scored a brace against Nottingham at the weekend and should keep his spot in the starting XI.

Eden Hazard (LW)

Hazard could have been rested for the Carabao Cup ahead of the weekend’s clash, but given this is Tottenham we face, the Belgian should start at Wembley.
