Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has told Callum Hudson-Odoi to respect the club and claimed that the English youngster would not be sold.
The 18-year-old has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich (h/t Daily Mail) and the youngster even handed a transfer request. Hudson-Odoi hasn’t started any Premier League games for us this season but has scored in the Europa League and the FA Cup.
Sarri was speaking to the press where he spoke about the youngster being 18, and how he had to respect Chelsea and the academy (h/t Daily Mail):
“He has to respect the club, the academy, everything. He has time. If you are one of the best young players in Europe, maybe the academy helped you. So you have to respect this.”
The manager added that he was happy with the player on the pitch. Sarri claimed the club weren’t selling him in January, and he would probably be staying in the summer too.
“The club have told me that, in this transfer window, he will remain with us for sure — very probably in the next window, too, so we are really happy with this.”
The report claims that the Blues have bought some time to convince the English youngster to sign a new deal. The 18-year-old is a free agent in 18 months, and he is one of the brightest talents in English football. Sarri further claimed that Hudson-Odoi could become one of the best in Europe at his home:
“He is improving and he is the future of our club and the future of English football. It’s his home.”
The Blues have been busy in the market, signing Christian Pulisic, who plays out wide just like the English youngster.
