Chelsea are lining up a huge £50million bid for Uruguayan hitman Edinson Cavani, according to the Express. The 31-year-old has been prolific for Paris Saint-Germain since his move from Napoli and has 16 goals in all competitions this season.
The report adds that Maurizio Sarri wants to “remodel” his squad in the coming transfer windows and could sell six to seven players. The Blues haven’t been great in front of the goal, with just 38 strikes in the Premier League. That is lower than any of the top six sides, with Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud struggling to find the back of the net regularly.
Morata only has five Premier League goals to his name from 16 appearances, however, he scored a brace in our FA Cup win over Nottingham Forest at the weekend. Sarri deployed Eden Hazard as a false-9 in a few games but we weren’t getting the best out of the Belgian in that role.
The Blues are in a fight to finish in the top four with Arsenal and a resurgent Manchester United giving us the chase. Someone like Cavani would be an incredible signing for the team. The Uruguayan has the physicality to thrive in the Premier League and is one of the most lethal finishers in the game.
Sarri has already spent huge to sign Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund, but the American will join us at the start of next season.

A world-class striker is a necessity at Chelsea at the moment and Cavani ticks all the boxes for the Blues, even if we have to pay a huge sum for the 31-year-old.
