Maurizio Sarri wants Chelsea to sign AC Milan forward Gonzalo Higuain and is open to selling Alvaro Morata, according to Sky Italia (h/t Metro).
The Chelsea star has struggled to perform up top despite scoring 7 times in 21 games this season. The report claims that Sarri has asked Chelsea for a new striker in the winter window, with Higuain on top of the list.
Higuain is currently on loan at Milan from Juventus, and the report claims that his current club can make the deal permanent for €36m. The Italian giants even paid €18m (h/t Metro) to sign the Argentine striker on loan.
The report adds that Chelsea would have to buy out the Argentine’s loan deal and then work on a permanent clause in the summer, and a similar arrangement would be done for Morata as he moves to Milan.
Sarri and Higuain worked wonders while at Napoli but the Argentine jumped ship to join the best Serie A side in the past decade or so – Juventus.
The 31-year-old hasn’t been prolific for the Milan side this season with just 7 goals from 17 games. It is interesting to see us get linked with the Argentine. The striker isn’t as young as Morata and we might have to pay top dollar to ensure he arrives at Stamford Bridge.
However, Sarri knows the player well from their time in Italy and hopefully, a deal works out well between all parties involved.

Morata needs a break from the Blues while a move to Chelsea could see Higuain find his spark again.
