The World Cup which captured the imagination of every football fan around the world is now a distant memory. The Premier League kicks off in less than 2 weeks when Jose Mourinho’s Man United play the curtain raiser against Claude Puel’s Leicester City. The upcoming season will be the first in Premier League history when the transfer window for English Club shuts before the start of the new season. With the World Cup madness settling down and participating players recuperating and thinking about their club futures, expect a frantic transfer activity and with you may never feel this easy to place your bets predicting on a transfer or about the result of a particular game. Here is low down on the Premier League Top 4’s transfer activity so far.

Manchester City
Transfers (In)

Signing the enigmatic Riyad Mahrez was a big piece of business and only adds to the riches Pep Guardiola has to his disposal in terms of attack and he could play centrally more than expected. Missing out on Jorginho was a blow but Manchester City will definitely be in the market for an alternative

Aleks Zinchenko has been linked to Wolves or Fulham while time is running out for Joe Hart to find a new club or is he is set for a season in wilderness. Quite a few youngsters are expected to be loaned out too.

Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs fans are within their rights to feel frustrated with yet another window which seems to be passing by them. A window which should have been used to bolster a squad which can take the next step is on the verge of being squandered. Spurs are yet to make a first team signing even though there have been some whispers about a possible move for Barcelona’s Andre Gomes.

Vincent Janssen is expected to leave after being left behind from the pre season travelling party to USA while many sources say Danny Rose, Moussa Dembele and Moussa Sissoko are looking for a way out.

Liverpool

The arguable winners of the Transfer window so far, Liverpool have signed the likes of Naby Keita, Fabinho, Xerdan Shaqiri and Allison Becker to an explosive squad which reached the Champions League final last season. Smashing the transfer record fee for a goalkeeper to sign Allison from Roma is a definite statement of Intent and could see Liverpool propel themselves as City’s biggest threat to the title.

Fringe players like Simon Mignolet, Daniel Sturridge, Ragnar Klavan, Divock Origi, Lazar Markovic could all be lined to exit Anfield in the upcoming weeks.

Manchester United

Manchester United started the window with a bang procuring the mercurial Brazilian midfielder Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk and the young fullback Diego Dalot from Porto adding depth and quality to a squad which finished runners up to their neighbours from Manchester. Mourinho has publicly said he needs atleast 2 more signings but will he get them?

Transfers (Out)

The only notable departure has been the return of Daley Blind back to Ajax Amsterdam but the links of a unhappy Martial refuse to go away and it could yet turn out to be the biggest transfer saga at Manchester this summer.
