Maurizio Sarri is desperate to bring Nabil Fekir to Stamford Bridge, according to reports (h/t Sun), and even called the player up to make a case for Chelsea.
The French attacker has been linked with the Blues ever since his deal with Liverpool fell through in the summer, as per the report.
The report adds that Sarri spoke with the World Cup winner about his extensive role at Chelsea and about what the future holds for the Frenchman at the club.
There is interest in the Lyon attacker from Bayer Munich too (h/t Sun), and Sarri wanted to know if he would have the first refusal for the player.
To ensure we get the player, a £50m bid (h/t Sun) is being prepared as Sarri wants to bolster the Blues.
Chelsea are unbeaten in all competitions, yet we lie four points behind Manchester City, who lead the Premier League.
The Blues also made it to the knockout round of the Europa League after winning their first four group games.
It is interesting to note that we are being linked with another attacker given that the Blues have Eden Hazard on one wing and the likes of Willian and Pedro on the other.
Fekir would take one of the midfield roles and we have a lot of competition for the three spots with N’Golo Kante and Jorginho more or less settled in our first-team.

The Frenchman would certainly provide us with a lot of quality in the attacking third, and it will be interesting to see if we push on with the deal.
