Chelsea are interested in PSV Eindhoven youngster Heritier Deyonge, according to L’Equipe (h/t Express).
The 16-year-old joined PSV in 2012 and has made rapid progress into the club’s U17 side, as per the report.
The Belgian youngster can play as a left-back or a right-back but prefers playing down the left flank. The report adds that Manchester United are also interested in the 16-year-old, while Paris Saint-Germain are slight favourites to sign the player.
Deyonge recently told FootMercato (h/t Express):
“I like Neymar, Kylian Mbappe.”
Deyonge could be another brilliant player coming through the Dutch system but he is too young to play for the first-team at Chelsea or any other club right now.
It will be interesting to keep a tab on the youngster as the months go by and hopefully, Deyonge will progress into the PSV first-team soon.
Chelsea didn’t sign many players in the summer but it always makes sense to get quality youngsters into the team.
Our youth system has produced a number of talents and we are seeing the likes of Ruben Loftus-Cheek getting regular playing time under Maurizio Sarri.
