Daniele Rugani is learning English ahead of a possible move to Chelsea, according to the Express. The Italian defender was linked with a move in the summer to the Blues but that deal fell through, as per the report.
Maurizio Sarri is still keen on the 24-year-old and is confident of landing the Juventus defender in the winter window, as per the report.
The 24-year-old has started just a pair of Serie A games this season for the Italian giants, and the Blues have preferred Antonio Rudiger and David Luiz at the heart of the defence.
We do have Gary Cahill and Andreas Christensen as back-ups to the pair, however, they have not looked great this season under Sarri.
The report adds that the Italian youngster would cost around £30million and has a contract till 2021. Arsenal are also interested in the 24-year-old but have to reduce their wage bill before they can bring other players in, according to the Express.
Another team keeping a tab on the Juventus man is AS Roma (h/t Express) but it is interesting noting that the youngster is taking English lessons.
This would be a smart move from the team as we require a quality central defender to step up in case Luiz or Rudiger get injured.
Further, Luiz is already 30 and we need to sign a defender that can be part of our back four for a number of years.
