West Ham interested in signing veteran Chelsea superstar

West Ham are interested in a winter deal for Chelsea defender Gary Cahill, according to the Mirror. The Englishman hasn’t started a Premier League game for the Blues this season and will be out of contract in the summer.

The report adds that Cahill is open to joining teams that will provide him with first-team football.

The Englishman started our Europa League tie against Vidi and the Carabao Cup game against Liverpool but his place in the Chelsea starting XI isn’t a surety.

Maurizio Sarri has preferred pairing David Luiz with Antonio Rudiger in the heart of the defence. Chelsea have started the season in incredible fashion as they are unbeaten in all competitions.

Further, we are tied at the top of the Premier League have only dropped points in draws against West Ham and Liverpool in the league.

The Mirror claims that Manuel Pellegrini would have the backing of his board as the Chilean prepares for mid-season signings.

Although Cahill provides us with a lot of experience, selling him in the winter window would not be the worst decision.
