Danny Drinkwater isn’t desperate to leave Chelsea despite not featuring in Maurizio Sarri’s plans, as per the Telegraph.
The Englishman hasn’t been named in our Europa League squad and didn’t feature in the squad that faced Liverpool in our Carabao Cup win.
The report claims that Drinkwater is willing to wait till the end of the season for the right move even if it does not come in the winter window.
The former Leicester City man wanted to see if Sarri had plans for him this season, according to the report. And Chelsea wanted to either sell or loan him out in the summer (h/t The Telegraph) but the player remained at the club.
The 28-year-old earns £100,000-a-week (h/t Telegraph) and cost us £35m from Leicester last season. The Englishman has struggled to perform for the Blues and we signed two other midfielders in the summer.
Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho are certainly ahead of the Englishman in the pecking order and even Ross Barkley is getting games under the Italian manager.
The last time Drinkwater played for us was in the Community Shield and it would be great if we can find a solution for him in the winter window.

The report claims that it would be tough for another club to match the Englishman’s wages but must find another club to play regular football.
