Thibaut Courtois left Chelsea and signed for Real Madrid in the summer. The move left us scampering for a quality keeper until we finally purchased Kepa Arrizabalaga for a world record fee.
The Belgian was one of the best keepers in the world during his time with the Blues. The former Atletico Madrid man starred for his country in the World Cup as well.
In the recent FIFA awards show, Courtois was declared the best goalkeeper. The Chelsea Twitter handle congratulated the 26-year-old for his achievement.
We understand that the Belgian’s performances at Chelsea led him to the award but some of our fans were unhappy at the club’s decision to tweet about the keeper.
The Blues kept hold of all their major players in the summer window with only Courtois leaving the side. Losing him was a blow and it looks like the wound is still fresh in the memories of a number of supporters.
