“Nike isn’t even trying”, “Do you get free wifi?” – Some fans aren’t impressed with Chelsea’s third kit of 2018/19 season

Chelsea launched their third kit for the season, featuring the NikeConnect technology. A release from the club added that the kit would be worn for our European away games and added this technology was a first in football.

The jersey has an aerial view of Stamford Bridge and it’s adjacent areas while fans can access experiences and competitions through the Nike app by connecting with the club logo on the kit.

Chris Townsend, the commercial director of Chelsea, was quoted as saying:

“This is a world first for football and highlights the strength of the relationship between Nike and the club. We hope our fans will enjoy tapping in to unlock exclusive Nike and Chelsea experiences and prizes as we make our way through the 2018/19 campaign.”

Chelsea have started the season with four wins on the spin and participating in the Europa League with our new kit will certainly be an experience after years of Champions League football.

Some Chelsea fans came up with hilarious responses regarding the use of technology while some weren’t happy with the design of the kit.
