Jorginho has been an excellent signing for Chelsea but the Italian was a wanted man in the summer.
The former Napoli midfielder was a target for Manchester City (h/t Manchester Evening News) but moved to London which left Pep Guardiola unhappy.
The Cityzens’ loss has been our gain as the Italian is a crucial cog in Maurizio Sarri’s team. Jorginho could have made City even better but he has helped us to an incredible start to the season.
We are unbeaten under our new manager and the midfielder spoke about his move to the Blues in an interview with ESPN Brazil.
“There are a lot of things behind a negotiation process. I believe Sarri’s arrival played a big part on it.
“And there’s also the greatness of Chelsea, such a big club. So these factors helped me making my mind.”
Sarri certainly was an important factor behind the player’s decision to join us. The Italian managed Jorginho during his time at Napoli and we are slowly seeing the best of the midfielder this season.
The 27-year-old has featured regularly for us thus far and it will be interesting to see how he progresses in a few months.
The Italian further claimed that he likes our style of play and hinted that the players are happy with the manager too.
“He’s very tactical and he works a lot on the tactical aspects of the game. You can see the end product when you look at Napoli and how Chelsea are playing now.

Our draw against Liverpool was certainly a nervy one but things have looked good under Sarri this season. We must end the ongoing term on a high and let’s hope Chelsea and Jorginho can continue in this rich vein of form.
