Valencia didn’t have a great Champions League game against Juventus last night. Although the La Liga side were given a boost when Cristiano Ronaldo saw a red card, they failed to take advantage and lost 2-0 at the Mestalla.
Miralem Pjanic scored a pair of penalties but Los Che had a few chances to break the deadlock. Michy Batshuayi, on loan from Chelsea, started the game but couldn’t help his side score.
The Belgian is an avid social media user and tweeted that the club could be “proud” of their performance.
A tough battle tonight but we can be proud of what we showed against a giant of Champions … Heads up AMUNT @valenciacf pic.twitter.com/Oal4JxKllj

That didn’t sit well with a number of the Valencia fans. Going down against ten men is never great and this result could return to haunt them.
The La Liga side’s group features Manchester United and Young Boys too. Batshuayi will have to up his game in the coming weeks and a few fans expected more from the team.
Proud??? Please keep fighting. We love Valencia CF, we want to see all of you fighting like warriors. In that moment we will be proud not today, AMUNT

Losing a game only makes you want to come back fighting for the next! Love you Michy

Proud? Are you kidding me! You are just upsetting fans with those comments! I’m ashamed; feeling bad and lost all my motivation to watch football! it was a disaster, a real one!

I love you Michy but the performance tonight was unacceptable. With an extra player for over an hour we rarely threatened. The team lacked heart, quality and spirit. A season which promised so much is turning into disillusionment.

Proud? Vs 10 players?♂️

Michy, sadly there’s nothing to be proud of. 🙁 I hope we’ll get up and win the next game, amunt!

No Mitchy, can’t be proud tonight. Still so much work to do. This is fucking Valencia CF, serious stuff. And you can’t leave the field walking when we are losing 0-2 against 10 men. Good luck man, we need you to show us your skills

You showed nothing but shame tonight, there was no spirit no fighting, we expecting alot more in next matches, AMUNT VALENCIA
