Real Madrid are desperate to sign Eden Hazard as a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, according to the Express. The report further adds that the La Liga side are willing to increase their offer for the Belgian and pay the £200m that Chelsea want.
Hazard was one of the stars of the World Cup but the report claims that he is not looking for a move away from the Bridge.
Thibaut Courtois sealed a move away to Madrid from Chelsea and was quoted by the Express as saying:
“Hazard has congratulated me on signing for Real Madrid.
“He is a great player and I would like to be always at his side, let’s see what happens in the future.
“If he can come [to Real Madrid], it would be fantastic.”
The report adds that the Belgian winger is stalling on a new contract.
However, Maurizio Sarri was confident that Hazard would remain at the club and even stated that the Belgian wants to stay at the club.
“Hazard is with us.
“It is not a problem, I have spoken with his three or four times.
“He never said anything about the market.”
The transfer market is still open for the non-Premier League sides and it would be a big blow for us to lose Hazard.
The Belgian played in the 3-0 win over Huddersfield and we should see the best of him under Sarri.
Even if Madrid are willing to pay a record amount for the Belgian winger, we have to do everything in our power to ensure he stays at the club.
