Chelsea want to extend Eden Hazard’s stay at Stamford Bridge by offering him a £300,000-per-week deal, as per the Daily Mail.

The report adds that the club wants to secure the future of their star players and Hazard had spoken about a new deal, however, he has not yet agreed to terms.

The report further adds that Hazard was testing the waters to see if Real Madrid or Barcelona made a serious offer and that the player is keen on a switch to one of the top clubs in La Liga. Hazard has a couple of years left on his contract but it is to be seen if he is willing to sign the new deal.

The Belgian’s future could depend on Chelsea making it to the Champions League this season. The report adds that Hazard wants to play in the top European club competition and failure to finish in the top-four could see him push for a move away.

Hazard came off the bench in our 3-2 win over Arsenal and seemed to be in great touch. The 27-year-old was one of the most impressive players at the World Cup and stated that he would be staying at Chelsea this season after the win against Arsenal.

The Blues won’t be competing in the Champions League this season but a top-four position has to be the minimum target for Maurizio Sarri’s first campaign in charge.

Failure to finish in the Champions League places would certainly be a problem as losing Hazard would be a huge blow for the side.
