Chelsea have been busy today as they first announced that they have released Antonio Conte from the club and now they have confirmed that former Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri will be the new coach.
The Italian has been linked with the Chelsea role for a while and it seemed like we were stuck in the negotiations with Napoli to ensure our man came to the club.
Sarri spent three years at Napoli and got them two second-place finishes while also providing Champions League football to the club.
The 59-year-old was happy to join the Blues and also added that he wanted to provide exciting football to the club and the fans.
“I hope we can provide some entertaining football for our fans, and that we will be competing for trophies at the end of the season, which is what this club deserves.”
It will be a testing challenge for Sarri as all the top clubs seem to be more or less ready for the new season with a number of new signings.
We would be thinking about bringing new players in too but for now, the Chelsea fans were quick to react to the new beginning, on Twitter.
