While the World Cup is on, Chelsea‘s stars who are not in Russia came back to training at Cobham as we prepare for another new season.
The last campaign wasn’t all that great despite picking up the FA Cup but the Chelsea website shared an update where the players took part in some light jogging and stretching before going in for some medical tests.
Marcos Alonso and Pedro were seen going through the stretches while Cesc Fabregas, Danny Drinkwater and Ross Barkley were seen going through the paces.
We also caught a glimpse of Davide Zappacosta doing his bit with the rest of the Chelsea players but it did seem very sparse given that a few of our players who were a part of their World Cup squads are yet to report to the club.
This season will be important as we look to break into the top-4 again and we also have the distraction of the Europa League.
Winning that competition would give us direct entry into the Champions League and it will be important for us to sign a few players to freshen the squad up too.
Most of our rivals have already brought in players to make their teams stronger and we need to act fast as the Premier League starts in less than 45 days.
The rest of the squad has to be up for the upcoming season and it will be interesting to see what we do in our training sessions in the coming days.
