Chelsea have completed their second signing of the summer as the club confirmed former West Ham United and Norwich keeper Rob Green has joined the side.
Green had been without a club since leaving Huddersfield at the end of last season and the veteran is expected to be the third-choice at the club, providing competition to Thibaut Courtois and Willy Caballero.
The 38-year-old has signed a one-year deal to play at Stamford Bridge and was quoted by the Chelsea website as being “delighted” with the move.
“It has been a pretty dramatic time for me and I can’t wait to get started. I am absolutely delighted and it is a thrill and an honour to be here.”
Green also has the experience of playing for the Three Lions and there is no doubting that his years in the English game will be useful to the side.
The Chelsea fans were far from impressed with the annoucement and they had a real old go on Twitter. Some fans were upset at the club’s transfers while others believed that the tweet from the Blues was a confirmation that Thibaut Courtois was staying.
Here are some of the best reactions from the social networking site.
