Chelsea are willing to sell former Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater but have slapped a massive £30m tag on the Englishman.
The Telegraph (h/t Daily Star) reports that the 28-year-old was signed by the Blues last season for a fee of £35m but they want to recoup as much as they can for the midfielder.
Drinkwater failed to make the most of his move to the Blues as he could not nail down a starting spot in the team. The former Leicester City man only made five Premier League starts, with seven more appearances as a substitute. Drinkwater also made three appearances for the Blues in the Champions League and scored just one goal in the entire campaign.
Even with Antonio Conte facing the sack at Chelsea, the board have taken the decision to sell Drinkwater and West Ham are interested in the player.
However, the price does seem to be a sticking point as we might have overpaid for the 28-year-old when we signed him and it is difficult to see some other club paying £30m for the Englishman.
Drinkwater was only a bit-part player for us last season and it would be a miracle if we manage to get something even remotely close to the amount we are quoting for the Englishman.

This wasn’t a signing that seemed to be right for us and it sure looks like it is going to bite us unless we somehow get a club to spend a crazy amount on Drinkwater.
