Chelsea are preparing to bid for AS Roma’s star goalkeeper Alisson as a replacement for Thibaut Courtois, according to the Daily Mail.
The London club could lose Courtois as the Belgian is yet to confirm his future with the Blues and has been linked with a move to Real Madrid.
The report claims that Chelsea would want close to £50m for the 26-year-old Courtois and also believe that they have a real chance of landing Alisson.
There is one problem with this deal as Alisson wants a move to Madrid. There has reportedly been an interest from us for Stoke City’s Jack Butland too and the club will hold further talks with the English keeper.
While it would be a major blow to lose Courtois, bringing in someone like Alisson would soften any impact of Courtois’ departure.
The 25-year-old has been one of the best keepers in the Serie A over the past two years and is also Brazil’s No.1. Alisson will certainly improve with a few years under his belt and he could turn out to be one of the best keepers ever if he hits his potential.
We might end up paying more than £50m for Alisson though and that might certainly upset a few fans but the goalkeeper is class and could be one of the new stars under Maurizio Sarri when the Italian completes taking up the job at the Blues.

Alisson’s price will keep on rising as Brazil progress to the latter stages of the World Cup and it would be in our best interests to snap him up as quickly as possible.
