Thibaut Courtois is a wanted man at Real Madrid and now, Sergio Ramos has become the latest Madrid agent to try and lure the Belgian to the La Liga club.
Diario Gol (h/t The Express) claims that the Madrid captain wants the 26-year-old Courtois to move to Spain and replace the 31-year-old Keylor Navas between the sticks.
The Belgian did spend some time on loan in Madrid but it was at Atletico Madrid, where he grew into one of the best keepers in the world.
Madrid have been linked with a move for Alisson of AS Roma too but the report claims that Courtois would be available for close to £50m while the Brazilian Alisson would cost around £80m.
The Belgian keeper hasn’t helped his cause of staying at Chelsea as he has spoken about his family being in Madrid and how he frequently travels to the country to meet them. Courtois is still one of the best keepers in the World and is a part of the Belgium team taking part in the World Cup.
While he might be looking for a move away, it would hurt us a lot if we are to lose him before the start of next season. All the issues seem to be stemming from the fact that we have not decided who our manager is going to be. Had we done that, players would have known what to expect next season but for now, we still have Antonio Conte leading the side.
Courtois cannot be a player that should be sold, given that he is only 26 years of age. He can grow further and develop into one of the best ever. Chelsea have to dig their heels and ensure Courtois stays at the club.
