Andreas Christensen was one of the stars in Denmark’s first World Cup game as he helped his side to a 1-0 win over Peru.
The 22-year-old, however, was taken off with 10 minutes remaining, due to an injury and hopefully, he should be fit for the next clash against Australia, which is on Thursday.
The central defender was also one of the brighter players for Chelsea last season, even though we finished outside the Champions League spots. Christensen did pick up the FA Cup title with the rest of the team and played 40 games for us in all competitions.
The 22-year-old would be looking to continue his great performance in the World Cup and help Denmark go as far as possible on the biggest stage in the world.
While a few Chelsea fans were concerned about the injury he picked up, there was a lot of praise for his excellent performance in the match against Peru and here are just a few tweets on the Dane.
