Eden Hazard might be with the Belgian squad for the World Cup in Russia but doubts about his future at Chelsea are still prevalent and former Belgium assistant manager Vital Borkelmans believes the star attacker should leave the club.
While speaking to bwin (h/t The Express), Borkelmans also stated that the 27-year-old Hazard is ready to move to a Spanish club.
“I think now is the moment that Hazard has to move, which will most likely be to Spain. He has played a lot of years in the Premier League, but I think it’s time for him to move on.”
While Hazard did lead us to the FA Cup win last season, he was not as prolific in front of the goal, having scored just 12 times in the Premier League.
It has not helped our cause in trying to keep him as Real Madrid have shown an interest in him. The Belgian also recently said that Real Madrid could interest him.
The Belgian attacker also mentioned that Real Madrid know what they have to do to get him. All the wheels seem to be in motion for a move to Real and it would be a huge blow for us to lose one of the best talents we have come across in the Premier League era.
Hopefully, we can also clear up the issue with our manager and get someone in who can help Hazard not only reach another level in his play but also bring a lot of success to the Bridge after a rather poor season last time around.
