Chelsea seem to be pressing on to find their replacement for Antonio Conte and have held talks with Fulham’s Slavisa Jokanovic according to Gianluca Di Marzio. Conte might have led us to the FA Cup by defeating Manchester United but we fell short of making it to the top-4.
Jokanovic, on the other hand, had a fantastic season with Fulham as he led the Cottagers to the Premier League via the playoffs.
The London club defeated Aston Villa in the final of the playoffs and will be looking to extend the Serbian’s stay, as reported by Sky Sports.
Jokanovic did spend a few years at Chelsea as a player but has worked as the manager for a number of clubs across Europe.
The 49-year-old even achieved promotion with Watford and has managed sides such as Hercules, Partizan, Maccabi Tel Aviv and Levski Sofia.
However, Di Marzio claims that there will be further talks between the Blues and Jokanovic as we look to move on from Maurizio Sarri.
Jokanovic certainly has a lot of experience of managing clubs across the continent and his success with Fulham and Watford do prove that he is capable of managing in England, though he has not managed in the Premier League yet.
The former Chelsea man might be a bit of a risk but our situation isn’t the greatest at the moment. We also do not have the Champions League next season and that might be a bit of a blow as we look to bring in quality players to have a real go in the upcoming season.
