Real Madrid have made contact with Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, according to Gianluca Di Marzio (h/t The Metro).
Conte’s future at Stamford Bridge has been in doubt for a while now and even after picking up the FA Cup-tied by beating Manchester United, he could be replaced before the start of next season.
Di Marzio claims that Conte seems to be a fit for Real at the moment, despite the club being linked with a number of big names.
The Italian, however, has a couple of concerns regarding the move. One of them is that the current set of players at the La Liga club will not suit Conte’s tactics.
Another issue regarding the move is that Conte does not want to resign from his job as he still has 12 months left on his current deal and would like a pay-off from the Blues should they bring in a new manager.
Zinedine Zidane had shocked many by resigning from his post at Real just a few days after beating Liverpool in the Champions League final. The Frenchman had picked up three Champions League titles and a La Liga title too during his short but eventful spell in Spain.
Conte too had done wonders for us when he joined the club and led us to the Premier League title in his first season in England.
Losing Conte has been on the cards for quite some time now but moving to Madrid does not seem to be the right step for the Italian, who seems to be a manager that works a tight ship, which is not how the La Liga side is run.
