Juventus star Miralem Pjanic is a wanted man according to reports from Italy, with Chelsea interested in the Bosnian midfielder.
Corriere dello Sport (h/t The Sun) reports that the Blues have entered the race to sign the 28-year-old and will be battling Barcelona for the signature of Pjanic.
The midfield maestro would not come on the cheap as the report claims Juventus will ask for £70million for the 28-year-old. Pjanic won the Scudetto with Juventus last season, scoring 7 goals and providing 9 assists for the Old Lady.
Pjanic would be a terrific signing for us given his composure in the midfield and the Bosnian could also provide a lot of competition to Cesc Fabregas next season.
Barcelona, on the other hand, have earmarked the 28-year-old as a possible replacement for Andres Iniesta as the Spanish legend is set to move to Japan after a glittering career with the La Liga side.
The 28-year-old is in a dilemma about which club to join and could move to the one that gives him a more lucrative offer.
While we would love to have Pjanic control the midfield next season, the £70million that Juventus are asking for could be a sticking point.
Pjanic is a talent, there is no doubt about it and if we are to have one of the best in the world, we have to pay the right amount. Hopefully, we can offer the player a better deal and bring him from Juve as we look to start next season on a high.
