As per a report from The Telegraph, it looks like Luis Enrique might have a good chance of becoming the new Chelsea manager.
Even before the recent Premier League season came to a conclusion, rumours were rife about either Enrique or Maurizio Sarri being considered to succeed Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge.
The Telegraph seems to have confirmed the same by claiming that Enrique is likely to be a top contender since Sarri is holding talks with Napoli and is expected to sign a new contract.
Napoli were absolutely sensational this season. They took the Serie A by storm and even posed a strong title challenge to displace Italian giants Juventus. However, their upsurge fell through at the final stages and Juve eventually picked up the trophy.
Regardless, it goes on to show what Sarri is capable of. For a good majority of last season, Antonio Conte was criticised time and again for his questionable decisions and tactics.
We finished outside the top-four and although we have a chance to win the FA Cup, there is little to cheer for in the Chelsea camp.
All this had led to speculation about a new manager being scouted this summer and Enrique and Sarri have emerged as top contenders.
If Sarri extends his future with the Naples-based outfit, it goes without saying that we won’t have too many options left.
The Telegraph also claims that we are eyeing Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino but it is highly unlikely that the Argentine manager would move to a direct rival.
It remains to be seen if we end up signing Enrique or not but one thing is for certain: Chelsea need a new manager this summer.
