Chelsea’s hopes of finishing 4th in the Premier League and making it into the Champions League came unstuck as they were rightly beaten by a better Newcastle United side.
The Blues knew they had to win and hope for a Liverpool loss against Brighton. However, the Reds did their bit with a 4-0 win over the Seagulls while our wheels came off the wagon at St. James’ Park.
We were never really in the game and Antonio Conte would be a little worried given that we play in the FA Cup final soon. A repeat performance like this would certainly mean that we win nothing this season.
Newcastle ended up scoring three goals, thanks to Dwight Gayle and a brace from Ayoze Perez but it could have been more had it not been for Thibaut Courtois.
Not many would have imagined us finishing outside the top-four after winning the Premier League title last season but this season has been one calamity after another and now we must prepare for the Europa League when the next season starts.
Twitter was not the best place to be for Chelsea supporters and here’s how the fans reacted to the loss.
We need the old ruthless and hungry for success Roman Abramovic back again, the one that didn’t hesitate to sack a coach and wasn’t afraid to spend millions for his club. Not this current excuse of an owner.

There’s more wrong with the club than just the manager. Don’t blame the manager for everything. In two or three years time we will be in this position again unless the rot it removed from the top.

Bakayoko and Morata will go down as two of our worst ever signings without a doubt. Embarrassing footballers, they should fuck off along with Conte in the summer

Conte asked if he’s confident he can turn Chelsea back into title challengers next season: “It’s important to finish this season” #cfc

Last season was amazing.
Antonio Conte became our manager & he was exactly what we needed then, Took us from 10th to PL Champions.
Dream ended then.
Clearly, there were problems, Conte hasn’t been the same. Lost his passion & Drive.
It’s time now. Thank You for Everything. #CFC pic.twitter.com/nhDQ69VxQY— ➑ ➑ (@Siyadha) May 13, 2018

I’m not sure how you go about picking an FA Cup final team after that… #cfc

Whoever I next manager is I hope his an attacking manager. Hate this boring defensive approach. #CFC

Fair to say #Benitez is a bit more popular in these parts than he was at Stamford Bridge. #cfc

There is absolutely no way Conte should be in charge of the final. No way.
As good (and lucky) as he was first season, he has been massively found out this season. No plan B. No clue. No backbone or fight when it mattered.
Toys out of pram before season even started! #tosser
