Willian and Alonso out, Giroud to start – Predicted 3-4-3 Chelsea XI to take on Burnley

Predicted Chelsea Line-up To Face Burnley In The Premier League

Chelsea face a tricky trip to Burnley this Thursday and they have to come out all guns blazing and win three points at Turf Moor.

Conte’s men head into the clash after coming from 2-0 down to beat Southampton 3-2 on Saturday in the Premier League.

The Blues are currently occupying 5th place in the Premier League table, eight points shy of 4th-placed Tottenham, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Brighton on Tuesday.

With the FA Cup semi-final tie against Southampton scheduled for Sunday, Conte is expected to make a small number of changes to his line-up on Thursday.

Probable Chelsea XI

Formation: 3-4-3

Manager: Antonio Conte

Thibaut Courtois (GK)

Courtois is Chelsea’s undisputed No.1 and must start against Burnley.

Cesar Azpilicueta (RCB)

Azpilicueta is one of Chelsea’s best players and the Spaniard has to perform at the top of his game for the rest of the season.

Gary Cahill (CB)

Cahill has endured a frustrating season at Stamford Bridge, as the Blues skipper has lacked aggression and discipline which made him such an important player in last term’s title-winning campaign. He needs to step up in the remaining few games and prove his worth.

Antonio Rudiger (LCB)

Rudiger has blown hot and cold in his debut season in England and he will have to be extremely solid to keep a sharp Burnley attack at bay.

Victor Moses (RWB)

Moses can attack and defend with equal zest and he is expected to be deployed in his usual role.

Emerson Palmieri (LWB)

Emerson is expected to start at Turf Moor as Marcos Alonso has been charged with violent conduct.

N’Golo Kante (CM)

The engine of this team, Kante can run, tackle, create opportunities all game long. It is the Frenchman’s selfless attitude that makes him such a vital cog in Chelsea’s machine.

Cesc Fabregas (CM)

Fabregas has the ability to open up any defence with his creative passing and link-up play. He will need to be at his sublime best if the Blues are to take home three points.

Pedro (RW)

Willian has played a lot of games in 2018 and needs rest ahead of the FA Cup game. The Brazilian’s exclusion should see Pedro start on Thursday.

Eden Hazard (LW)

Hazard has been off the boil in the last few games but the goal against Southampton will give him a lot of confidence. Hopefully, the Belgian finds his lost mojo back, sooner than later.

Olivier Giroud (ST)

After his match-winning cameo against Southampton last Saturday, Olivier Giroud must lead Chelsea’s attack at Turf Moor. Two goals at St. Mary’s would have boosted Giroud’s morale for sure and the Frenchman will be raring to go.
