According to Sky Sports, Watford’s Brazilian winger Richarlison is being tracked by Chelsea, Manchester United and Everton.
Richarlison enjoyed a prolific start to life in English football after he arrived from Fluminense last summer. The winger quickly grabbed many eyeballs as he scored 5 goals in his first 12 games for Watford.
However, the 20-year-old has not netted for the Hornets since November last year and despite his lengthy goal drought, several Premier League clubs are tracking him.
The Sky Sports claims that Watford are concerned about Richarlison’s struggle for form. He needs rest as he has played non-stop football for 12 months, first for Fluminense in Brazil, and in the Premier League since August.
The talented Brazilian has made 36 appearances for Watford this season, the most recent one coming in the 2-1 defeat at the hands of Burnley last weekend.
The report says that Chelsea considered signing Richarlison last summer but the guarantee of regular game-time convinced the youngster to join Watford under then-manager Marco Silva.
With Everton and United being keen on the forward as well, the Hornets would only consider bids of around £40m, the report adds.
The Hornets paid Fluminense £11.2m for the services of Richarlison at the start of the season, with the Brazilian signing a five-year deal at Vicarage road until 2021.
Richarlison certainly is one of the Premier League’s most prized assets at present. He started off well at Watford but his form has faded over the course of the season.
The Brazilian is a talented player but £40million would probably be a big gamble for Chelsea to take.
