Chelsea travel to the Etihad Stadium to face Premier League champions-elect Manchester City, in what is likely to be a high-octane encounter. It will undoubtedly be a colossal affair and the importance of the game was quite evident in our training session as well.
David Luiz and Tiemoue Bakayoko were missing as both players are injured and it could be a while before we could see them. Luiz is out with an ankle injury and Bakayoko, incidentally, picked up an injury while training for the game. As per early speculation, the midfielder could be out for quite some time.
In what will come across as a bit of a good news, January arrival Ross Barkley is back in training and although he might not feature in this one, an opportunity could be on the cards in the games to come.
Even as snow engulfed most of the areas around them, our players did not hesitate to have a bit of fun! There was a lot of snow flinging and laughter and here is our favourite image out of the lot.
The key to beating Manchester City will be to put up a solid effort at the back and Victor Moses certainly looks ready to take on the high-flying club. Moses has been a force to reckon with for Chelsea on the right-hand side and his influence will certainly prove to be crucial once more.
All in all, the team seemed to be in good spirits and that is something we will require to face the daunting challenge ahead of us. Winning the match would certainly help us progress further in terms of securing a Champions League spot and let’s hope we can pull off a fast one over City.
On the whole, the game will be an electrifying one and a victory is a must for us today, no matter what! What do you think the scoreline would be?
