Former Chelsea star heaps the praise on influential Blues ace and the fans will love it

According to former Chelsea star Pat Nevin, N’Golo Kante is among the best in world football. Kante has been a star performer ever since he moved to the Premier League to join Leicester City. He joined the Foxes in 2015 and guided the club to a fairytale Premier League title in his debut season in England.

The diminutive Frenchman’s rip-roaring impact at King Power Stadium saw Chelsea snap him up the following season. And Kante again proved to be the catalyst, helping Chelsea win the league in manager Antonio Conte’s debut season in England.

Kante has been in the PFA Team of the Year for the previous two seasons and has also bagged personal accolades by winning the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award and the FWA Footballer of the Year. For playing a crucial role in Chelsea’s league dominance last season, he was also named the Premier League Player of the Season.

For starring in the Premier League ever since he moved to England from France, Kante has received widespread plaudits from all over the world. And former Chelsea player Pat Nevin has told the club’s official website that Kante is right up on the top amongst the best in the world.

“I am determined never to take Kante for granted,” Nevin told Chelsea’s official website.

“There are very few players in football who are outstanding almost every single game of every single season, but I suspect he is near the very top of that very select group.

“I am pretty much open-mouthed at various points in every game in which I watch him, and I still have no idea how he wins so many tackles he is the second favourite for, or how he reads the game so incredibly well.

“I am beginning to think that like the elevators in the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, he might have an ability to see slightly into the future and know what is about to happen a few seconds before everyone else and as such, acts accordingly in nipping in to win the ball.

“I know it is early to consider it, but I will be amazed if he isn’t in everybody’s Premier League team of the year, and if the PFA Players’ top team doesn’t include him I will lose faith in the entire game.”

Although Kante has been a bit off-colour this season, there is no doubting his work ethic and the energy he brings to the Chelsea team. He is for sure one of the first names on Conte’s teamsheet. The Frenchman does his job diligently without making a lot of fuss and his humble attitude simply makes him a top player.
